LUCKNOW METRO WINS INDIAN EXPRESS ‘TECHNOLOGY SABHA AWARD’, 2019

Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation Limited (LMRC) has added another feather to its cap by winning the prestigious ‘Technology Sabha Award, 2019’ from the Indian Express Group.

The Indian Express Group bestowed this Award to Lucknow Metro for its Mobile Application which was chosen under the Enterprise Mobility category for the ‘Technology Sabha Award’ 2019. This award was presented by Sh. Prakash Kumar, CEO GSTN (Goods and Services Tax Network to Lucknow Metro during the award ceremony held at Jaipur, on 10th August, 2019.

The Award which received entries from across the country are given to government organizations that demonstrate innovative use of a particular technology or a combination of technologies for distinct benefits to the stakeholders. This includes deploying a completely new solution or an innovative use of an existing technology to gain a competitive edge, improve operations or become more responsive to customers and partners. The nominations are shortlisted, reviewed, and judged by a panel of Editors from the Indian Express team.

Mr Akash Deep Srivastav, DGM(IT), LMRC received the award on behalf of Lucknow Metro. Shri. Kumar Keshav, MD, LMRC said, “Lucknow Metro is totally committed towards Prime Minister’s goal of a Digital India and ensures that technology is used for the betterment of lives of the people”

The LMRC mobile application is enriched with advanced features like searching nearest metro station, dynamic fare calculator and advanced station information. The station information includes first and last train timings, platforms, gates (entry/exit) and directions, contact number of stations, availability of parking facility, feeder services, lifts and escalators.

The mobile app is also integrated with “Chalo App”, the Journey planner app of UMTC, which helps in planning trips using other modes of transport available for last mile connectivity. Moreover, users can recharge their metro GoSmart cards in-app using credit card, debit card or net banking.

A dedicated section titled “Your Metro” engages commuters with metro as preferred mode of commute, facilities available for differently abled, security features and makes commuters aware of their responsibilities. It also informs the commuters about various systems deployed at metro stations along with safety instructions and the procedure to use them in case of emergency. The Do’s-Don’ts and penalties for various offences are also available on the app. It can also send instant notifications to the public about metro services. Frequently asked questions by the Metro users have been answered and listed on the app. App users can also call metro helpline from the app in case of requirement of any help.
